Medical billing services for small practices and growing groups
Northgate provides medical billing services for small practices, from one provider to multi-location groups, in-network and out-of-network, in all 50 states. Every practice gets the same service and a named account lead. What changes with size is the price, and it is published.
Two minutes online. No sales call unless you ask for one.
What does Northgate look like for a practice your size?
Every size gets the same medical billing services: claims out within 48 hours, every denial worked, a weekly report. Your fee follows your collections. Examples use the published brackets.
A solo therapist collecting $20,000 a month pays 7%. Below about $6,500 a month, the $450 minimum applies.
A two-provider chiropractic clinic collecting $45,000 a month.
An eight-provider group collecting $200,000 a month.
A multi-site group collecting $400,000 a month.
DME and HME, EMS and home health carry a published specialty factor, shown before you sign.
Medical billing for group practices: what changes as you add providers?
Nothing in your contract. A new provider is credentialed on the same flat fee, joins your billing setup and appears in the next weekly report. Your rate is set on total group collections, so it steps down as you grow. Multiple locations and tax IDs can sit on one agreement, with one account lead.

Do you bill in-network and out-of-network claims?
Yes, on the same model and the same rate. Most practices are a mix.
In-network
Medicare, Medicaid and commercial claims, every denial worked and appealed.
Out-of-network
Benefits checked before the visit, claims filed, patient statements that make the balance clear.
Going in-network
We credential you with the payers you choose, then bill under the new contracts.
Can Northgate help a practice that is just starting out?
Yes. Start with credentialing: one flat fee per provider that covers your first eight payers, CAQH setup included. The figure is on the pricing page, under what the fee covers. When your first contracts are active, billing starts with the same account lead. No setup fee, no onboarding fee.

Do you work inside the software my practice already uses?
Yes. We work in your practice management or EHR system under a login you control, covered by a Business Associate Agreement. Your data stays with you. If you leave, we remove our access and hand over the status of every open claim.

- Anyone shopping for a rate under 3% with appeals charged on top
Questions about who Northgate serves
Is there a minimum practice size?
No. We work with solo providers. The fee has a minimum of $450 per provider per month, which applies when a provider collects under about $6,500 a month. The calculator shows whether it applies before you sign.
Is outsourcing medical billing worth it for a small practice?
It depends on what billing costs you now in staff time, denials and unworked claims. Our free billing audit measures your denial rate, days in A/R and recoverable revenue, so you can decide on real numbers. Our guide asks the same question in full: Is outsourcing medical billing a good idea?
Do you bill for group practices with many providers?
Yes. Each provider is credentialed under your group and shown in your reports. Your rate is set on total group collections, so it falls as the group grows.
Can you handle multiple locations or tax IDs?
Yes, on one agreement with one account lead, with reports split by location.
Do you bill out-of-network claims?
Yes, at the same rate as in-network claims, with benefits checked before the visit.
